Hospital CIMA San José is a 93-bed hospital (36 medical beds, 35 surgical beds, 9 Labor and Delivery beads, 6 ICU, 4 NICU, 5 psychiatric) with future expansion capacity up to 103 total beds. The hospital has an additional wing on the third floor to accommodate 10 more beds. The hospital’s campus includes a seven-story medical office building. And two additional physician towers owned and managed by a third party

Recent Operational Highlights

Since commencing operations in 2000, Hospital CIMA San José has grown to be one of the premier health care providers in Costa Rica and Central America. The hospital has continued to develop and gain market share and is now recognized throughout Costa Rica and Central America as a hospital and healthcare provider of choice. In addition to the physicians who have offices in the medical office building, the hospital has another total of 750 credentialed physicians practicing on the Hospital CIMA San José campus.

Operationally in 2005, management completed assessing its information technology and laboratory systems in concert with a CIMA-wide initiative for deployment of the same technology configurations in each area. The hospital was first accredited by Joint Commission International in 2008 and has subsequently undergone two successful reaccreditation surveys.
