IHC’s flagship hospital is Hospital CIMA, San José, located in San José, Costa Rica. This acute care hospital, which was designed and built by IHC, opened in early 2000.
The Hospital has an installed capacity of 103 beds and currently operates 65 beds. The three-story facility includes a large outpatient medical department with a variety of advanced diagnostic and treatment services and modalities, chemotherapy and hemodialysis; a radiology department; an emergency department complete with a trauma room, treatment stations, private exam and consultation rooms; and, a fully equipped modern surgery department and recovery facility.
Hospital CIMA San José is accredited by the Joint Commission International, a US-based agency that utilizes highly developed international standards for quality and patient safety and is broadly recognized as the gold standard in international medical accreditation. In 2024, the hospital received its sixth triannual accreditation, a continuing affirmation of its status as a premier medical service. The hospital has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality medical care and adheres to both medical privacy standards of Costa Rica and HIPAA from the United States.
The hospital is also known for its excellent patient experience as well as medical and quality standards that meet or exceed its North American peers.
